X Series IDC XLR Cable Connectors
An ingenious connector that allows rapid termination of microphone cable without the need for lengthy cable preparation or soldering. Based on the insulation displacement contact (IDC) idea, the only stripping required is that of the cable’s outer sheath which is removed to the recommended length (18mm). Once the boot and chuck are slipped over the cable, the individual wires (with insulation) can be inserted into the contacts which are housed in the plastic insert. The keyed chuck is then slid over the insert forcing the contact tines to bite through the insulation. No assembly tools are needed.
