The RS PRO ESD kit has everything you need to make your workstation ESD-protected (electrostatic discharge).
It's vital to prevent ESD when working with electronic components as it can affect the overall performance of electronic equipment. ESD can also cause melting of metal, oxide failure and junction breakdown. When assembled, this kit makes a workspace into an ESD-protected area, enabling you to work safely with any type of electronic device. Included in the kit is an anti-static mat which doubles up as a work surface. To minimise the risk of static electricity a coiled cord, an adjustable wristband and a ground cord is also supplied.
There are two types of kit available – European and UK – and each one comes with corresponding plugs. Every item included is manufactured to EN 61350-5-1 standards, so you can be sure that it's safe to use in any work or household setting.
